Thereshallbewings x3 albion prelude5/10/2023 ![]() ![]() I had a couple M4s and a few M5s defending my whiskey station, and I set them to “sector patrol” once to see what would happen… and they got annihilated by a Kha’ak cluster (which hasn’t done anything since). There’s not much to say there other than that I need to reload from time to time when I get surrounded. I’ve kept going through the Terran missions, though I got sidetracked with some of the Final Fury missions as well (up to the one where you need to return the data recorder). Of course at some point I should point the hub jump gates somewhere, too… I think I might just do the first, and then when I get to a stopping point, finish running through the Terran ones, just to keep my head straight. Then I got caught up by this Jesan character so maybe I’ll do a mission or two there. I’ve got to get my docking computer fixed now, too–did I mention how awesome the docking computer is? Especially on those friggin’ enormous Terran stations. ![]() I went through the Terran missions up until you scan the pirate station–that one was a bit tough, my Nova got knocked down to 80% hull before I jumped out. I’ve also only got three UTs, so I should probably get some more of those, too. They mostly sit around and wait for the prices to get to their sell/buy points, which I guess means I should raise the buy points and/or lower the sell points. My whiskey business is constantly sold out–I think it’s the resurgence in interest in craft spirits–so I plan on expanding with a couple more wheat farm/distillery module pairs, but that means I’d have to hire a TL again and wait for it to schlep all the way out to my little hidey-hole… so I’ll do that in a minute. Klaatu, again I appreciate pointing me to your script but I guess you don’t get achievements if you have modified your game, so I’m going to stick to au natural for now. (And really what’s a 300k credit freighter these days anyhow?) I still haven’t found anything explaining how internal commodity logistics works, but I’ve got a freighter that does pretty well delivering energy from my factory to my silicon mine, and another one that does pretty well delivering silicon to the factory, and while that still seems like one more freighter than I should really need, it works. I found an excellent (if lengthy) guide to external commodity logistics here. In other news, I got two mistrals and two mistral super freighters, and I’m trying to see if I can make money with them just shuttling energy and food around. So I did the first escort mission, and now I’m either going to run through those missions or hook up the hub gates. I actually hadn’t been to Terran space yet, so I cruised over there, and when I got to Omicron Lyrae I got hit with the Terran plot mission (I gather). I guess I get to choose where to connect the jumpgates–anywhere would be better than two Xenon sectors (though I haven’t seen many Xenons flying through the hub), but I’m thinking maybe it would be cool to hook up Argon prime (where my factory is) and Circle of Labour, for quick access to Terran space. In any event I shipped over my last amount and then repaired the capacitors. I finally managed to scrounge together the 500 microchips–I’m not sure how much of the contribution was from the two fabs and how much was from the “Buy ware at best price” freighter. Are the corporation missions even worth it? Or not.Īlso I’ve been doing Plutarch, Terracorp, and OTAS missions but it seems to be super slow to increase in rank. I’ll get a couple more fighters as I capture them, and maybe they’ll be able to fight off a small attack. I don’t really anticipate trouble because the only bordering sector, while technically a pirate sector, has pretty frequent Ar and B patrols through it. I fixed them up, armed them, and put them on “defend station”. My still has one M3, two M4s, and two M5s on defense–a motley mix of fighters I captured during various missions. I still want to expand to a second still, but it took forever for the stupid TL to make it all the way out of Argon space. Also the CAG that I have for purchasing energy doesn’t have jumpdrive clearance yet and the nearest power plant is two or three sectors away so refueling (pardon the pun) is a bit slow. Still hasn’t made that much money yet, but I need to be patient. Seems to get pretty good traffic–once I checked and there were three incoming AI freighters with whiskey POs. So I set up my whiskey operation–just a wheat farm + space fuel distillery complex, cleverly named “The Still”–in Freedom’s Reacharound (I don’t think that’s the exact name).
